Career-Aligned Scholarships
Darden’s growing portfolio of merit scholarship includes multiple scholarships with a career focus.
The following merit scholarships recognize students with talent and passion in various industries, including engineering, manufacturing, media, finance, entrepreneurship, technology and innovation.
Most of Darden’s scholarships do not require an additional application; however, those in the competitive scholarships category, including Batten Scholars and Batten Media Fellowships, do require a supplemental application. Please note that not all named scholarships are available each year. Many are available every other year and some with less frequency.

William Wooding Sihler Scholarship
Established in 2000 by alumni of the Darden School in recognition of Professor Bill Sihler's dedication to students and learning. Up to four Sihler Scholarships will be made without regard to need to candidates accepted for admission to the first year MBA Program whose academic record is above average and who have demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit.

Chesapeake Corporation Foundation Fellowship
This scholarship was established in 1992 by the Chesapeake Corporate Foundation of Richmond, Virginia. The fund provides scholarship support to Darden School students who have a graduate or undergraduate engineering degree.

William F. & Joyce A. Richmond Entrepreneurial Leadership Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2001 by William F. Richmond (MBA ’76). The scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated academic excellence and an interest in entrepreneurship.

DeCola Family Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2015 for the purpose of providing scholarships to outstanding students in Darden's residential MBA program, with a preference for students who have backgrounds in manufacturing organizations. Darden alumnus Michael A. DeCola (MBA ’77), CEO of HBM Holdings, was instrumental in the establishment of the fund.

Batten Scholars
Full- and partial-tuition scholarships for students who exhibit an entrepreneurial spirit, strong leadership skills and a drive for innovation. Learn more about this competitive scholarship, which requires a supplemental application process.

Batten Media Fellowships
Frank Batten, who was chairman of the Associated Press, CEO of Landmark Communications and founder of The Weather Channel, established the Batten Media Fellowships in 1988 to invite professionals who have worked in the news media for at least three years the opportunity to pursue an MBA. Richard Mayo Center for Asset Management
The Mayo Center launched a new scholarship pilot program in academic year 2016-2017. By providing this scholarship support, the Mayo Center aims to continue to attract talented MBA students interested in asset management and investing.

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute Scholarship
The Darden School Foundation will award at least one full-tuition, merit-based scholarship each year to CFA Institute charterholders and charter-pending candidates in good standing who are accepted to the Darden School.
