Need-Based Scholarships

Darden seeks to make its world-renowned education affordable to all students. Scholarships and financial aid are priorities of the School's Powered by Purpose capital campaign.

Need-based Aid: AccessDarden

Darden is pleased to announce a new financial aid program called AccessDarden.

This program was created for those students who have a lower expected financial contribution (generally, the lowest 20 percent of the class). Students will need to apply for AccessDarden need-based grants, and details will be made available to students upon admission to the School. Here are additional details:

  • Award amounts will be up to $20,000 for those who qualify and are based on funds available.
  • Applications from students in both the full-time MBA and Executive MBA will be considered.
  • To apply, students must submit the University Financial Aid Application and required tax documents through the Student Information System within two weeks of the date of admission, which is the date the Admission Office notifies the student of acceptance to the program by email.
  • Decision notifications will begin in January 2021 and continue on a rolling basis.

To assess a student's eligibility for need-based aid, the School takes into consideration all possible resources, including: cash, savings, investments, money market, CDs, trust funds, real estate equity, income of student and spouse, retirement contributions, veteran benefits, social security benefits, other familial resources, company sponsorships, and any other untaxed income not listed here. The School will also take into account merit-based scholarships awarded through the competitive and merit review processes. Additional information may be requested to best assess a candidate's ability to pay or to resolve any conflicting information on data submitted.
