As the largest career-oriented organization at Darden, the GMO Club is committed to bridging the gap between the classroom and the job market. Club members gain access to a large group of students who work in a diverse set of industries, countries and career tracks. The club will help students successfully navigate their career searches.

Although this organization has members who are University of Virginia students and may have University employees associated or engaged in its activities and affairs, the organization is not a part of or an agency of the University. It is a separate and independent organization which is responsible for and manages its own activities and affairs. The University does not direct, supervise or control the organization and is not responsible for the organization’s contracts, acts or omissions.

    • Events

      The General Management and Operations Club hosts a variety of events and activities throughout the year. 

      • GMO Forum: Forum provides a platform to our sponsor companies to interact with students through a daylong event organized by the club on grounds during September. The event provides first contact points between companies and students through various networking opportunities. In the last two years the event has been headlined by Maggie Anderson (SVP, DaVita) and Jim Lico (President and CEO, Fortive).   
      • GMO Social Events: Events ranging from happy hours and networking nights are organized by the club throughout the year to break the monotony of business school. 
      • Career Events: With a specific focus on career events, the club organizes Resumania, cover letter mania and interview prep sessions to help our members put their best foot forward. 
      • Special Events: Kaizens trips, visit to local companies (including Amazon fulfillment center), apprenticeship challenges in partnership with companies are organized to provide practical exposure to all members of the club.
