Robert M. Conroy is the J. Harvie Wilkinson Jr. Professor Emeritus of Business Administration. In the past he has also served as the Associate Dean for MBA Education and directed the international efforts of the Tayloe Murphy Center, an academic center at Darden, which develops and promotes relationships with Virginia businesses, fosters international educational and corporate partnerships, encourages the growth of Virginia businesses, supports economic development and conducts research. A professor in the Finance area, Conroy has published numerous articles and authored many cases on capital markets. In addition he has been recognized by the MBA classes of 1999, 2003 and 2004 with the Outstanding Faculty Award. He teaches courses on Corporate Finance, Valuation in Financial Markets and Derivative Securities.

He is a CFA charter holder since 1996. From 1999 to 2006, he served on the MBA Program Committee at the Stockholm School of Economics. He has taught as a visiting professor at the International University of Japan in Niigata (1991, 1995, 1997 and 1999), IESE Business School in Spain (2004, 2006 and 2008) and Helsinki School of Economics (1996). Much of Conroy's recent research focuses on Japanese financial markets. Before coming to Darden in 1988, Conroy taught at the University of North Carolina and Duke University.
