Leadership, Organizations and Communication
Faculty in the Leadership, Organizations, and Communication (LOC) area challenge students to stretch their understanding of human behavior in organizations and to develop their abilities as leaders and communicators. They are both researchers and teachers of this work: their scholarship on leadership, organizational behavior and communication directly shapes what happens in the classroom, just as classroom practice sharpens the questions they pursue in their research.
Coursework spans individual and interpersonal behavior, group and team dynamics, organizational structure and culture, human resource management, diversity and leading organizational change — as well as the strategic craft of communication that coordinates action, builds trust and inspires people to accomplish meaningful goals.
Across all Darden programs — Full-Time MBA, Executive MBA, and Doctoral — LOC faculty seek to help participants become responsible leaders and skilled communicators equipped to improve the organizations they lead.
