The Behavioral Research at Darden (BRAD) Lab
The Behavioral Research at Darden (BRAD) Lab is an interdisciplinary laboratory supporting the application of behavioral science to business and society. We serve to further the development and application of behavioral research across disciplines. Affiliated faculty represent a wide range of data-driven fields including business, public policy, engineering, architecture, education, nursing, and medicine.
Mission
Our mission is to promote impactful interdisciplinary behavioral research through facilitation and support of experiential investigations. The BRAD Lab is a platform for project development and knowledge creation.
Vision
Our vision is to establish Darden as the premier business school for interdisciplinary behavioral research that advances the application of behavioral science to business and society.
Leadership
The BRAD Lab is led by an academic director whose role is both to stimulate interest in behavioral research from faculty, doctoral students, and staff and to facilitate the execution and promotion of such work in collaboration with postdoctoral fellows and dedicated research associates. UVA School of Engineering
BRAD Lab has partnered with the School of Engineering to create the Behavioral Science for Sustainable Systems Program. A primary goal of our program is to support Ph.D. Fellows in their interdisciplinary research to advance knowledge at the intersection of behavioral and sustainability sciences. Students will identify fundamental relationships between human-designed outcomes and intergenerational sustainability, stewardship, cognition (psychological and neurological), affect, and behavior. Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy
The mission of the Batten School is to develop leaders and generate new knowledge to solve the world’s toughest public policy challenges. Through training in policy analysis and critical leadership skills, the Batten School and its faculty, develop effective and ethical leaders to promote a better society; produce research addressing the most important policy problems; and serve as a model for transforming public policy education. We are looking for motivated research assistants (RAs) interested in working with faculty in interdisciplinary behavioral research at the Behavioral Research at Darden (BRAD) Lab. This position entails running studies, conducting literature searches, entering data, working on annotated bibliographies, recruiting participants into the SONA subject pool, and assisting with additional tasks.
