Lauren Wang Kaufmann is an Assistant Professor of Business Administration in the Strategy, Ethics and Entrepreneurship area at Darden, where she teaches core Business Ethics and the elective Managing Social Impact in the full-time and part-time MBA programs.
Her research interests include business ethics, social impact, and gender. In particular, she collaborates with impact investing funds, philanthropic foundations, and consulting firms to advance scholarship on how firms make and measure social impact.
Prior to joining Darden’s faculty, Lauren graduated from The Wharton School with a Ph.D. in Managerial Science and Applied Economics in Business Ethics. She also received her M.S. in Legal Studies and Business Ethics from Wharton. Previously, she earned her M.Sc. in Gender from the London School of Economics and Political Science, where she conducted research on gender and impact investing. Lauren graduated summa cum laude from the University Pennsylvania with a BA in Philosophy, BA in English, and minor in Classics (Latin).
Prior to transitioning to academia, she worked at several for-profit and non-profit organizations in the impact investing industry.
