Catalyst Accelerator
Catalyst is a long-format accelerator program, providing early-stage startups in central Virginia with nine months of program support, including: $20,000 in grant funding, dedicated workspace, experienced founders-in-residence, monthly programming, dedicated staff, a large network of industry experts, and access to nearly $50,000 in additional resources.
The program is a multi-stakeholder initiative, thanks to funding from and a collaboration among a range of public and private organizations in Central Virginia: Virginia’s Growth and Opportunity Initiative (GO Virginia), Central Virginia’s Partnership for Economic Development the Batten Institute, as well as the economic development offices of the City of Charlottesville, Albemarle County and the University of Virginia.
Additional partners include: UVA’s Licensing and Ventures Group, Charlottesville Angel Network, Community Investment Collaborative, Small Business and Development Center, Charlottesville’s Business and Innovation Council, CvilleBioHub, and others.
This broad collaboration leverages the resources of the wider ecosystem to not only support a select set of high-potential startups selected for the accelerator, but also trigger positive impacts upon the community-at-large.
