As vice president of business strategy and operations at Ellucian, a PE-backed Higher Ed cloud / SW company, Daniel Hae-Dong Lee is responsible for managing the operational rhythm of business and overseeing key strategic initiatives.

Daniel has more than 17 years of management consulting leadership experiences, having worked with C-level executives at Fortune 100 companies, non-profits and federal agencies to foster innovation and introduce efficient approaches to strategic planning and operations.

Prior to joining Ellucian, Daniel served as the head of operations for U.S. public sector consulting at McKinsey & Company where he built a best-in-class consulting platform to enable smart growth. He has held leadership positions at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Accenture, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and IBM.

He currently sits on the board of the Common Application, where as interim CIO/COO he helped revitalize the solution which processes five million applications each year for more than 800 member institutions. He was also a winner of Consulting Magazine’s Top 25 Consultants award in 2016.

Daniel has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in manufacturing systems engineering from University of Virginia; an MBA from University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business; and a doctorate in management information systems from University of Texas at Austin.
